EVENTS INCLUDED:
Movie
Stunt Camp - The
first of our summer camps was an action-packed
adventure with the students learning how
to perform some stunts, rolls and self defense
techniques. They were also introduced to
weapons training with hands experience at
the sword, kali sticks and nunchaku. The
experience was capped off by learning to
play the taiko drums. Look for the next
camp schedule for July 18th.
Dad
'n Me Training -
The dojo was spilling over with dads, who
came to train and have fun with their kids.
They practiced self defense techniques,
including punching, knees and elbows. The
kids made awesome instructors for the day.
Saturday
at the Movies with Shihan Taylor -
TMA turned out opening weekend packing the
local theatre anxious to see Kung Fu Panda
2. Sporting our karate gis and belts the
students and parents had a great time. We
ended the day posing for pictures and capped
the fun off with a "Parking Lot Popsicle
Picnic". Family fun time at Taylor
Martial Arts.
Mom
'n Me Training -
Our moms came out and had a great time training
with their kids. They learned some self
defense techniques, used their verbal skills
and distance strategies to keep safe. Plus,
they got to learn the art of the Japanese
fan. Great job moms!
Night
of a Thousand Cranes:
Girl Scout Troop 965 partnered up with Taylor
Martial Arts on April 1, 2011 working jointly
on a service project to create 1,000 origami
cranes. The girls from Riverside and Moreno
Valley met at Taylor Martial Arts and taught
Shihan Dan Taylors students how to
fold the paper cranes.
Together
the group folded approximately 390 paper
cranes helping to get the project well on
its way to completion. Each crane bears
a notation indicating the troop number sending
the crane.(READ

Meeting
of the Brainiacs a.k.a. Honor Roll Students
- a fun-filled, action-packed
celebration of achievement.

Japanese
War Fan Class - A VERY
noisy and fun seminar where students learned
the traditional weapon, the tessen, with
Sensei Young and Sempai Johnson. It was
so popular that another beginner class is
being planned as well as a follow-up intermediate
class, which will be held on September 18th.
